Private Jet From Phoenix to Las Vegas: Time, Cost, Airports

Phoenix to Las Vegas by private jet: which airports to use, flight time in a light jet, event-week parking rules and what drives the cost of the trip.

Phoenix to Las Vegas is one of the shortest jet routes in the Southwest, so a light jet is usually the right fit. Most trips run from Scottsdale to Harry Reid International, the closest jet airport to the Strip. Same-day round trips are common, and big event weeks need early booking.

Scottsdale Airport (SCF) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is 218 nautical miles (250 statute miles) in a straight line: about 49m in a light jet, with a one-way estimate of $7,500–$13,500 for up to 4 passengers.

Which airports to use

On the Phoenix side, Scottsdale Airport (SDL) is the default: it has no airline service and three FBOs, Jet Aviation, Atlantic Aviation and Signature Aviation. Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) is closer to downtown Phoenix and Tempe, and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway (IWA) suits the East Valley. See the Phoenix airport guide for how they compare.

In Las Vegas, Harry Reid International (LAS) sits about five miles south of downtown and is the closest jet airport to the Strip; Atlantic Aviation and Signature Aviation run its private terminals. Henderson Executive (HND), about 11 miles south, is a quieter county-run alternative for the south end of the Strip and Henderson. North Las Vegas (VGT) has runways of about 5,000 feet and suits smaller jets bound for downtown or the northwest valley.

Which aircraft fits

The flight is short enough that a light jet covers it comfortably with up to about seven passengers. A midsize jet adds a stand-up cabin and more baggage room, which matters more for golf bags or a group of eight than for flight time. Larger jets rarely make sense on a hop this short.

Because the trip is so short, positioning matters: if no aircraft is based in Phoenix that day, the price includes the flight to pick you up. Watch empty legs on this route, and use the charter cost calculator to compare one-way and same-day round-trip pricing.

Big event weeks

Las Vegas hosts events that fill every private ramp in the valley. For the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix, the FAA ran a parking reservation system for arrivals and departures at Harry Reid, Henderson Executive, North Las Vegas and Boulder City, plus a departure slot program after the race, and warned that flights without reservations could face long delays or denial of service.

Henderson and North Las Vegas also note that when a special-event parking program is active, visiting aircraft need a reservation number from an FBO for each landing. If your trip falls on a major event weekend, book early so the operator can secure parking before it sells out.

Time zones and timing

Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, while Nevada observes daylight saving time. From spring to fall the clocks in Phoenix and Las Vegas match; in winter, Las Vegas is one hour behind Phoenix. Check this when you set a departure time for a dinner reservation or a show.

Scottsdale asks aircraft to observe a voluntary noise abatement curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., so very late returns may be better planned into Sky Harbor, which operates around the clock.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long is a private jet flight from Phoenix to Las Vegas?

Well under an hour in a light jet, including taxi, climb and descent. Exact times depend on winds and routing on the day.

Which Las Vegas airport is closest to the Strip for private jets?

Harry Reid International (LAS), about five miles south of downtown, is the closest. Henderson Executive (HND) is a quieter option for the south end of the Strip and Henderson.

Can I fly from Phoenix to Las Vegas and back the same day?

Yes. The route is short enough that a same-day round trip is common, and the crew waits in Las Vegas while you are there. Use the charter cost calculator to compare that with two one-way flights.

Do I need a reservation to land in Las Vegas during big events?

During major events the FAA and Clark County can require parking reservations at all Las Vegas-area airports. The operator handles this, but booking early gives the best chance of getting the airport you want.
