Want to know what your trip will cost before you pick up the phone? Our free private jet charter cost estimator gives you an itemised estimate for any route in any aircraft class, in seconds.

How to use the calculator

  1. Choose one way or round trip. For round trips, enter the number of nights away.
  2. Pick your airports. Type a city, airport name or code. The calculator works out the great-circle distance and flight time.
  3. Choose an aircraft class, from turboprops to ultra long range jets, and enter the number of passengers.
  4. Read the breakdown. You will see a total range and each cost line: flight time, repositioning, daily minimums, crew overnights, handling fees and US taxes.

When you are ready, press "Get an exact quote" and your trip details carry straight into our quote form.

What goes into a private jet charter price

Charter is priced mainly by flight time multiplied by the aircraft's hourly rate. In 2026, typical US rates are:

Class Typical rate per hour
Turboprops $2,000–$3,400
Light jets $4,000–$5,900
Midsize jets $5,000–$7,200
Super midsize jets $6,500–$9,800
Heavy jets $8,500–$13,000
Ultra long range jets $11,000–$17,500

On top of flight time, a quote can include:

  • Repositioning, when the aircraft flies empty to collect you or to return home
  • Daily minimums on multi-day trips, commonly two billed hours per day
  • Crew overnight costs, for hotels and meals when the crew stays with you
  • Landing, parking and handling fees at each airport
  • Federal excise tax of 7.5% on domestic flights, plus per-passenger segment fees (calculate them here)
  • International fees such as overflight permits, customs and handling abroad
  • Extras like special catering, de-icing in winter and in-flight Wi-Fi usage

How much does a private jet charter cost?

As a rule of thumb, a short light jet trip of about an hour each way, such as Los Angeles to Las Vegas, often lands around $9,500 to $14,500 for a same-day round trip. A coast-to-coast super midsize round trip with a few nights away is often $75,000 to $115,000. Holidays and major events push prices higher; flexible dates and empty legs bring them down.

How do I know I have the best price?

Compare like with like. A good quote names the aircraft (with year and photos), names the operator and its safety ratings, and itemises every cost. A low headline price that leaves out repositioning, taxes or fees is not the best price. Read more in how to save money when chartering a private jet.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I get an instant private jet charter price online?

Our charter cost calculator gives an instant, itemised estimate for any route and aircraft class. A firm price requires checking live availability with operators, which your advisor does when you request a quote.

Why do two quotes for the same trip differ so much?

Different aircraft, operators and repositioning. One quote might use an aircraft based at your departure airport; another might fly an aircraft in from elsewhere and bill for it. Always compare the aircraft, the operator and the line items, not just the total.
